---O Fauno do Fío/The Faun of Yarn--- The most beautiful thing a being could conjure, is to give their all to something they could not understand, to bask in the small wealth that humanity is, thou are the greatest award in the greater arms that you shan't never grasp In lives that add to nothingness, in stories that unravel in unpoetic drags, We reach out in the cold murk to touch our god, only to find the fragile extension of a ghost in our hands, You've spent all time between the pillars of his teeth, your life has been consumed but I deem it worth it... Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments, Will hum about mine ears; and sometimes voices, That, if then had waked after long sleep, Will make me sleep again; and then, in dreaming, The clouds methought would open and show riches, Ready to drop upon me , that, when I Waked, I cried to dream again

The warmth of the hearth is to illuminate my heart, The words that impregnate my spirit are to fill me with song, The cold stone of the temple is to remain my lar, Where no hiraeth could be conjured from afar We struggle, We fast, and sometimes they don't save us, Some nights are just so cold as to penetrate all faith, I forgive you, Though no words congregate in my bones, I forgive you... My hollow breath falters at your name, What is the gift of strength and pax if not to be taken away, I struggled and starved for you, And one night took all this away, I look forward to the glow that will put even death aside, I'll wait forever...

about

The two tracks that I contributed were meticulously composed and recorded from 4/1/2018-6/28/2018. With the immense workload of carrying these two compositions from non-existent to fully fledged works, I feel that this is my most proud work yet. I feel that this split, really represents a split in my sound. While it does hold on to the mathcore musings of the début EP, the influences from folk and other types of music are much more prevalent. I feel that the first track "O Fauno do Fío" is my most concrete blending of spiritual neofolk and chaotic mathcore (the two of which were the initial inspiration for this project's existence). This track had many fully formed drafts, all of which were carefully produced only to be deleted, in the lead up to this final version. The final piece that I contributed "The Suffering of Vesta" was my answer to combining the blend I had wielded for "O Fauno do Fío" while also acknowledging my exploration and love for electronic music. It was my attempt at creating something that was simultaneously synthetic whilst also sounding natural and musically archaic. After all this intense work, it looms on me how truly proud I am of this collaboration. Thank you very much to "The Field Where I Died" for helping me to make this dream a reality. I adore the tracks that you have contributed and hope that our sonic paths may cross again one day.

The Plumage side of the split is dedicated to:
My parents and brother for the never ending support and inspiration, Jonathan Fraser for being an admirable musician and collaborator, Sangre de Muerdago and Nebelung for helping me to channel the spirit of the woods and true beauty, and Chvrches for creating bops...
